Favorite Actor
My favorite actor would probably be Adam Sandler. He's played in Bedtime Stories, 50 First Dates, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Click etc. I like him because he always gets the funny parts in movies and he's hilarious. The movies he's in usually come out really good too.

Favorite Movie
Well, since you know my favorite T.V. show is The Walking Dead from previous blogs, I'll do my favorite movie. My favorite movie would have to either be 'The Twilight Saga' or 'The Avengers'. I can never choose. It's so difficult. They're both great films, so why have to chose? That's the way I see it. Any who, go Iron Man and Alice Cullen!!!!

Journal Entry
Yesterday my grandma decides to drag me out of bed at 6 am to hike 5 miles up a mountain. (I'm also NOT a morning person) Fun right? No. Then I go home and my mom wants to go the mall. So I'm pretty tired right now and my legs hurt. No bueno.

Where Do You Get your Belief System?
I don't really have a "religion". My entire family is christian, but I don't really follow them. I guess you could call me an atheist; but I don't like to be catergorized. I used to go to church, and I have been baptized but as I grew up I started to second guess the entire religion. I couldn't put so much faith and dedication into something I didn't enitrely believe in. So I didn't. And that's where I am to this day.

Journal Entry
Another journal entry... Well I guess you could tell from the previous entries that my life isn't very interesting on a daily basis. I'm a high school student. I get up, go to school, go home, and sleep. Yes, that is my life 5 out of the 7 days a week. Thank you very much.

Goals
One thing I want to do before I get out of highschool is to have some job experience in the medical field. For instance taking the nursing program here at Deer Valley or volunteering at other organizations. That way I'll have a bit of an understanding when I go to college.

TED Talk
1) Title: Frans de Waal: Moral behavior in animals
2) The speaker is a man born in Den Bosch by the name of Frans de Waal. He is inspired by a painter named Hieronymus Bosch. He is also quite fond of Chimpanzee's and has wrote a book called 'Chimpanzee Politics'
3) Frans de Waal believes there is an evolved mortality in animals of empathy & consolation, prosocial tendencies, and reciprocity & fairness. This suggestion has been through a series of tests which are video taped and played throughout the presentation. The tests include primates such as elephants, chimpanzees, apes, and other monkeys. The experiments indicate that the primates do indeed have a sense of all these traits. Some scientists have disagreed with this conclusion but Frans de Waal is set on his beliefs. The point of this talk though is to compare how similar characteristics we have to primates; And how they have quite a complex understanding as we do. Though they might not be advanced as us now. But there is not telling how far they will come to us in the future. They already have displayed how they can work together, reconcile after a fight, and show empathy. These creatures really are quite intelligent.
4) I thought the talk was really interesting. I'm amazed at how understanding these primates are. They really should get more credit than they receive. It's shocking to see the traits we share with them. Even more shocking to see how sometimes they are far more fair and caring than us. They are brilliant creatures that have a far more advanced understanding than just the will to survive. The presentation was very informational yet interesting at the same time. Well done Frans de Waal.

The past twenty-four hours of awesome life (not) I was happily babysitting my wondeful siblings. Can you tell there's sarcasm in that sentence? So, while everyone was out having fun at homecoming I was stuck at home with a 12 year old, a 10 year old, a 6 year old, and a 2 year old. Good times. Good times... I think I'm done here.

Propaganda
Propaganda is a catergory in which there are many types of ways to influence ones opinion. One example of propaganda is bandwagon. Bandwagon is a technique that enforces the 'everyone else is doing it' attitude, to get a person or a group of people to agree with the topic at hand.

Equality
Do I believe everyone should be equal? That's a bit of a broad catergory. Equality is a trait that I personally believe in. So of course I do think that everyone should be treated equal. We are all human, are we not? And as humans we all are entitled to certain things. It just isn't right to discriminate against someone because they may be different. When in reality none of us are the same, so we are all different in a way. What makes someone so special as to decide what another may or may not do based on their looks, race, religion, etc. There is nothing worthy enough to say; You simply cannot justify it.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
I totally support those who wear pink for breast cancer awarness in October. I, myself, support it all year long. It's a horrible disease and nobody deserves it. So we should all help those who unfortuantely struggle. because of it.

Yesterday I was supposed to finish a project with my friend. But we forgot the poster in Mrs. Reagans room, and she wasn't there. So I had to get up super early to finish in the morning. Not so happy about it.

Current Event
A current event that I am interested in is the presidential election. I think it is imprtant to be involved in what happens with our government.

Presidential Debate
I did not watch the presidential debate because I had better things to do than watch two morons argue over who is better for this country. I peronally believe that neither should be president, but what does a 14 year old get to say about elections? Nothing, that's right.

Birthday Gift
If my birthday was next week, I would want a new T.V. Because I have a T.V. that is like older than dirt. And it's freakishly huge. Plus a flat screen would look so nice in my room!
